Frequently Asked Questions About Google Ads

  • I want to show up first on Google Search. Is that possible?

    Yes, but it's not guaranteed. Your advertising representative is working to get you the best results for your budget. Sometimes, the "top" placement is so costly, it makes more sense to aim for positions 2 or 3. It might also make more sense to target total impression share of first-page results. Long story short, we're always looking out for your best interests.

  • Do I get access to my ads account?

    Yes. You'll be given read-only access to your account. This is to allow you complete access to what we have built for you.

  • I want to cancel my advertising services. Can I keep the account you created?

    We do not transfer ad accounts or custom audiences upon cancellation. We can, however, export all past ads account copy and performance for you.

  • Business is great. I want to increase my ad budget. Will my management fees increase?

    We'll match the advertising budget to your management fee until you hit $500 in monthly management fees. Beyond that, we allow customers to scale their ad budget to $3,000/month before we contact you to discuss an increased management fee that makes sense for your budget. 

  • My ads aren't appearing for keywords I should be targeting. How do I address this?

    Contact your support representative. They'll be able to articulate why this is happening. It might be due to having already expended your entire daily budget, the cost of the actual keyword, or another factor entirely.

  • Why do I only have reporting access to my Google Ads account?

    Since our billing is connected to each ads account, we only provide read access to limit any opportunities for accidental spend.

  • When is my ad budget withdrawn from my account? How about management fees?

    Ad budgets are charged at the beginning of the month, and our services rendered are charged at the end of the month. It helps everyone if we can put our card on file for your Google Ads account.

  • When will my account manager check-in with me?

    Your account manager will send you a performance report at the beginning of each month (for the previous month's advertising). They'll also provide you with an opportunity to schedule a time for a phone call to review performance in detail, answer questions and discuss next month's advertising agenda. If you need to speak with your account representative during the month, please email them with your request.

  • I've decided to cancel services. How do I do that?

    We require a 30-day cancellation notice in writing in order to cancel services. This allows us to complete any given month's advertising that has already been put in place. Please provide your support representative with your cancellation notice to start the cancellation process.

    We consider building the website just the first step. Our Website Package is designed around building a relationship with our clients and continually managing the website to keep it relevant and up to date.

  • Are website updates really unlimited?

    Yes! The same team of web designers who built your website are available to make any updates or edits to your website that you need. We also keep an eye on the latest stats, design trends, and digital features to keep your website up to date.


    Generally, our turnaround time for website updates is less than 2 business days. If we think a project or request will take longer, we'll let you know.

  • Is website photography really unlimited?

    Within reason. We have clients who schedule photo shoots with us once a month to keep their restaurant menu current and others who only need new photos once a year. It's really up to each business how to take advantage of our photo team. Our goal is to keep your website up-to-date as your business grows.

  • What is an SSL certificate?

    SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. It's a security technology that ensures the data being passed between your website and other servers is unable to be captured and used maliciously. We install an SSL on every website we build. This keeps your website secure and is a positive factor for SEO.

  • Will my new website be SEO friendly?

  • What can we do to improve SEO?

  • Does my website include a blog?

    Yes, and we highly recommend blogs on most websites! One of the best ways to improve your search rankings is through regularly updated and relevant content.


    Our platform allows us to install blog software that you can manage from your own computer. Or you can hire our in-house Content Writer to work with you to write blog posts!

  • What's so important about business listings and Yext?

    Your business listings are the many ways, other than your website, that people will find you on the internet. Some listings like Google My Business and Facebook are easy to manage. Most of the other listings are outside of the business' direct control, like Yellowpages, Apple Maps, Foursquare, and dozens more. We use a software that allows us to manage 36 different directores around the web and make sure your business information is correctly represented on those directories and all their partners.

  • How do I get to the first page of Google?

    We like to say that the first page of Google doesn't really exist or at least that the first page is relative. What every Google user sees is dependent on so many factors (like keywords used, location, search history, advertising, etc.) that no search result is going to be exactly the same. 


    This isn't an excuse to be lazy though. Proper SEO, website design, and skilled advertising are more important than ever and we've got you covered.

  • How do I improve my Search Engine presence?

    In short, the better you can prove to search engines (and visitors) that your website is the best and most relevant search result for your industry, the higher you'll show up in search results.

  • How do I cancel Web Design services?

    We require 30-day written notice to cancel services. This helps us make sure any media, software, and website content gets transferred over to your control. Just get in touch with your GBR representative and we'll help you process your cancellation.

  • I'd like to take over management of my website. Is that possible?

    We use a proprietary agency web-design/web-hosting platform called Duda, so there are several options. 

    • We can show you how to create your own Duda account and assist in transferring the website between accounts. You are then responible for all management, including hosting and content.
    • We can keep your website on our agency account, but grant you administrative access to manage just the content of your website.

    Either option requires a cancellation of your current Web Design service with us as most of our ongoing deliverables will no longer apply.

  • What are Brand Photos?

    A Brand photos are still images that highlight your business/brand. These photos are typically taken during your BRAND VIDEO SHOOT.


    These Brand Photos will be used to help the GBR Web Designers build your new 

    website.

  • What is a Header Video?

    A Header Video is a 15-30 second video that visually highlights your business/brand. These videos are produced without sound and are typically used at the top of your Home page to add more visual drama and depth to your website.

  • When will my photos and video be done?

    Projects vary, but we typically have a 1-2 week turnaround from the date of filming.

  • When can I schedule my shoot?

    Our Media Team's available hours are generall Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Video or photo shoots may be available outside those hours but may incur an After Hours fee.

  • Can I schedule additional shoots?

    Yes! We offer unlimited photography and unlimited revisions to your Header video. If you have something you'd like featured on your website, get in touch with our videographer!

  • Do you charge a travel fee?

    We don't charge a travel fee for any shoots in North County San Diego. 


    North County San Diego encompasses the cities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, and Poway. Locations outside of this area may incur a travel fee of $2 times the distance in miles.


    Distance is determined using the fastest route according to Google Maps. For example, a video shoot in Newport Beach (59.4 mi from the GoBeRewarded office) would include a cost of $118.80.
